Multiple Classic-winning trainer Ralph Beckett makes his debut on the Bahrain Turf with 6YO Victory Chime. The trainer recorded his 100th win last year, while the son of Campanologist landed recorded his 11th success for trainer Ralph Beckett by denying Tyson Fury and West End Charmer in a bunched finish.
“We are keen to win races all around the world – particularly a race as valuable as this,” said the leading conditioner.
The Ralph Beckett-trained gelding, known for his love for undulating and unorthodox tracks is likely to find himself at home at Simsir as well.
“I think that the flat, turning nature of the track will suit him well. He is a potent horse around Epsom, Sandown, Windsor and Chester,” said Beckett.
Victory Chime is expected to fight for the early advantage in his next start, hoping to score a hat-trick of wins.
The gelding is owned by Wokingham based Andy Nevin.
In a previous interview, Beckett said: “He’s a great character who has been a terrific servant to his owner. He’s been a joy to train and I think he gives his owner a huge amount of pleasure.
“I bought Victory Chime as a yearling for 45,000 Gns.
He is a very straightforward horse to train and has got better each year that he has been in training,” said Beckett.
Victory Chime is likely to go on a well-deserved break after his Bahrain run, “He will have a holiday after his run in Bahrain – he has been very busy throughout 2021,” said Beckett.
The winner of the Gr.3 Bahrain International Trophy Cup lands an automatic berth in the Gr.3 Neom Cup to be raced during the Saudi Cup weekend in February.
