Bahrain is set to host the opening round of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup series in the Middle East from Thursday to Saturday, under the patronage of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who represents His Majesty King Hamad in humanitarian work and youth affairs, as well as chairs the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport.
This event is part of Bahrain's local horse breeding championship and will be held at the Military Sports Association's field in Al Raffa. The series consists of 10 rounds spanning various continents. It aims to promote Arabian horse breeding globally, highlight the UAE's interest in Arabian horses, and maintain its esteemed position among organizations, breeders, and owners worldwide.
Shaikh Nasser expressed pride in being chosen to host this global championship's inaugural Middle East round, highlighting Bahrain's distinguished reputation as a leading hub for purebred Arabian horses, deeply rooted in its history. He also emphasized the importance of caring for Arabian horses and supporting owners, reflecting the royal vision to preserve these horses, which is integral to Bahrain and GCC history.
Furthermore, Shaikh Nasser commended the UAE's efforts in preserving Arabian horses and its commitment to supporting Arabian horse preservation and promoting these horses globally. He praised Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, and chairman of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS), for his dedication to equestrian sports, which has solidified the UAE's global standing in the field.
As the honorary president of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef), Shaikh Nasser highlighted the significance of hosting the first round of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup series as part of Bahrain's local breed horse championship. He stressed that this event showcases Breef's efforts, led by Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, in organizing mega sporting events, reinforcing Bahrain's status as a premier destination for Arabian horse championships.
Shaikh Isa expressed appreciation for Shaikh Nasser's support of the Bahrain championship for local breed horses and the first round of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup series, reflecting his commitment to Breef's activities and contributing to the development and success of equestrian sports on a broader scale.
Additionally, Shaikh Isa praised the UAE's significant role in promoting equestrian sports, acknowledging Shaikh Mansour's patronage for equestrian sports, which has enhanced the UAE's strong presence on the international equestrian stage.
