King Of Conquest is primed for another tilt at the Gr.3 HM The King's Cup in Bahrain this Friday, hoping to improve on last year's fourth-place finish in the prestigious mile-and-a-half contest.
The 6YO, trained by Charlie Appleby, has already tasted success at the Bahrain venue, having landed a handicap there in February 2023. Since then, he has enhanced his reputation with two Listed-level victories in the UK last year.
Making his presence felt in Dubai this winter, King Of Conquest has been knocking on the door with three consecutive runner-up finishes at Meydan, including a narrow head defeat in the Gr.3 Al Khail Trophy.
"King Of Conquest has won around this course before under Richie Mullen, who takes the ride again," said Appleby. "It looks a tight-knit affair, but he should be very competitive."
The Godolphin team has adjusted their Bahrain challenge with Ottoman Fleet now a non-runner in the Listed Al Methaq Mile on the same card.
