Riyadh’s social season hits a pinnacle this week with The Saudi Cup weekend, featuring the world’s most valuable race offered on a card worth US$35.35 million. There will be blue-blooded guests together with social, business and political leaders from the region and abroad.
When it comes to fashion, Saudi Arabia operates by a serious politeness playbook, from the spelled-out to the unsaid. But there are no rules when it comes to outrageous hats.
Today we feature the top international milliners and some of their stunning designs to serve as inspiration for the glittering raceday
Stephen Jones (UK)
During the late 1970s, when London's street style was at its peak, Stephen Jones emerged as a major player in the city's fashion scene. A student at St. Martins by day, he was one of the uncompromising style-blazers of his era at the famed Blitz nightclub, where he was always seen wearing a spectacular hat of his own original design.
Celebrities such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Mick Jagger, and even royalty have all worn Jones's era-defining designs during the past four decades.
Stephen Jones' millinery is the icing on the cake for any and all fashion occasions, from the catwalk to the racetrack, from the music festival to the royal garden party.

Jane Taylor (UK)
Since its founding in 2004, London's Jane Taylor has become a name that immediately conjures up images of sophisticated headwear.
All the way from Beyoncé to the Princess of Wales, wear hats and headpieces by Jane Taylor Millinery, which are part of her exquisite designs.
For Jane, making hats was a natural extension of her interests in sculpture, the visual arts, and textiles. She first earned a degree in needlework from Manchester Art School before moving on to Chelsea and Kensington College to study millinery. She afterwards apprenticed with Marie O'Regan, the milliner to the Queen of England.
Jane launched her company from the house she grew up in and marketed her wares locally at first. After making the trip to London in 2007, she expanded her business while docked in Kew on a narrowboat. Seven years later, among the most prestigious names in the fashion industry, Kings road store closed after being open for five years and we opened the Atelier on Walton street one year ago.
JOHN BOYD HATS (UK)

The small crew at John Boyd Hats, located in London's trendy Marylebone neighbourhood, handcrafts all of their bespoke and ready-to-wear ladies' hats from scratch, typically utilising vintage or otherwise hard-to-find materials and the finest quality straws, sinamay, silk, and feathers.
