Triple Group One winner Mishriff's stallion career has been put on hold due to an injury that has not healed sufficiently. Although there has been significant progress in his recovery, Sumbe, the organization handling his stud duties, has been advised by their veterinary team, that in the best interests of the horse, it would be advisable to cancel all covering plans for the remainder of the season.
Mishriff was due to stand for an introductory fee of €20,000 and had been popular with breeders, garnering support from owner-breeder Prince AA Faisal.
Sumbe - Haras de Montfort & Préaux has been home to two classic stallions in the last decade, including Le Havre, the sire of five Group One winners. In 2021, the champion sprinter and Gr.1 Commonwealth Cup winner, Golden Horde.
Mishriff has been cited as suffering from a minor injury since January, and it was thought to require only a minor delay to his stallion career. However, the Gr.1 Juddmonte International Stakes and Gr.1 Dubai Sheema Classic winner has not healed enough to allow him to cover mares, and his veterinary team have announced that all covering plans should be cancelled. Mishriff, hailing from the family of leading sires Invincible Spirit and Kodiac, has excellent tissue that has aided his recovery, reported Matthieu le Forestier.

Sumbe's decision to wait until Mishriff is fully recovered is in the best interest of the horse and ensures that breeders have the best possible chances for success when using him as a stallion in the future.
