On Friday, it was confirmed that Nashwa and Blue Rose Cen will be competing against each other in the mouthwatering generational clash at the Gr.1 Qatar Nassau Stakes in Goodwood. The event will take place on Thursday.
Nashwa'sTtriumphant Journey Continues
Last year, Nashwa, who was trained by John and Thady Gosden, achieved victory in the Prix de Diane and then continued her success in the Nassau. Most recently, she showcased her talent in Falmouth.
In the upcoming race against Blue Rose Cen, she will be competing against a French star who had previously won the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches before her victory in the Diane.
Among the entries, it is worth noting the presence of Ribblesdale winner Warm Heart, Above The Curve, and Running Lion. However, notable absences from the list are Via Sistina, who has shown great potential, and Oaks heroine Soul Sister.
Next week, ITV will be airing the Nassau Stakes and Thursday's schedule will also include the Group 2 Markel Richmond Stakes (2.25).
Jasour, who won the July Stakes at Newmarket this month under the guidance of Clive Cox, is one of the 26 young horses entered in that race.
Aidan O'Brien, Unquestionable, who finished second in the Railway Stakes, has also been entered.
Additionally, Goodwood's lineup on Thursday will showcase the Gr.3 John Pearce Racing Gordon Stakes (3.00), with a possibility of ten horses participating in that race.
Adelaide River, trained by O'Brien, has been performing exceptionally well this season, coming in second place in both the Irish Derby and the Grand Prix de Paris. Many consider Adelaide River to be the top contender in a race that is viewed as a trial for the Betfred St Leger.
The last horse to win both races was Conduit in 2008. Espionage, another horse trained by O'Brien, is also a strong contender for the Doncaster Classic and may also participate in the Gordon race.
Espionage recently won at Roscommon on July 4 and is currently at 8-1 odds to win the St Leger, according to the sponsors. Adelaide River, on the other hand, is at odds of 12-1.
