After impressively justifying 13-8 favoritism in the mile handicap at Newmarket on Saturday, Isle of Jura has the potential to make a quick turnaround under a penalty at Glorious Goodwood.
George Scott's purchase of the son of New Approach proved fruitful as he secured his first victory at Newbury last Friday.
Goodwood Awaits: Isle Of Jura's Quest For Racing Supremacy
Following this triumph, the horse, under the guidance of Callum Shepherd, swiftly achieved another win. Isle of Jura, belonging to Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa's Victorious Racing, is set to compete in races spanning a mile and ten furlongs at Goodwood on the upcoming Thursday.
"He's a nice horse who we picked up for 150,000gns and it's difficult to know how good he could be," said Scott. "I'll speak to Sheikh Nasser to see if he runs under a penalty at Goodwood but he's a lovely horse for the future."
Isle Of Jura completed doubles for Victorious Racing. Sisyphus Strength, trained by Andrew Balding, won the 1m2f handicap. Shepherd, who rode Tiger Crusade for David Simcock, was successful in the 6f handicap.
