Fashion Legend, the winner of the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas, has arrived in Hong Kong to continue his racing career under the guidance of trainer Caspar Fownes. The horse is owned by Bon Ho, a prominent figure in the Hong Kong racing scene, known for his successful horses Classique Legend and Deauville Legend. Fashion Legend had been trained in Australia by Richard and Will Freedman, who prepared him for his A$2 million victory at the Gold Coast and his Gr.3 Vo Rogue Plate win.
Bon Ho's Success with Horses in Hong Kong and Australia
In Hong Kong, Bon Ho is known for his ownership of the legendary Classique Legend, who won the Everest in Australia and the Hong Kong Sprint in 2020. He also owned Deauville Legend, won the Hong Kong Derby in 2020. In Australia, Bon Ho has had success with horses such as Southern Legend, who won the Gr.1 Longines Hong Kong Cup in 2018, and Aethero, who won the Gr.2 Jockey Club Sprint in 2019.
With Fashion Legend now under his ownership, it's clear that Bon Ho has a keen eye for talent on the track. Pop Rock, a dominant Moe maiden winner, and Shadow Raiders will join Mark Newnham's yard as he prepares for his first season training at Sha Tin. Silver Up, a two-time Victorian winner from Grahame Begg's stable, will also make the move to Hong Kong, where he will be conditioned by Cody Mo.
Other horses on the same flight include former Queensland galloper Bulikovand dual New South Wales provincial winner Midori Burly.
In total, 13 horses made the trip from Australia to race at the two-track circuit in Asia. Fashion Legend's arrival in Hong Kong has been met with excitement from the racing community, and many are eager to see how he performs under Fownes' tutelage.
