On the day of the Everest, Randwick will host one of its biggest carnival actions with two million dollar events, including the 7 Stakes which takes the place of the old George Main Stakes (now King Charles III Stakes) under the same conditions.
Fangirl, after her last start Gr.1 win in the Winx Stakes, aims to build on her success and is expected to face off against stable mates like Hinged, Princess Grace, and Lindermann once again. Other notable entries include the veteran racers Think It Over and Zaaki who have a history of performing well at the big track.
The Everest, a monumental event, has a lead up with the Gr.2 The Shorts (1100m) and many contenders could be claiming slots after this. Nominees for the event include Private Eye and Mazu who have previously placed in the big race, as well as other strong contenders such as In Secret, Lost And Running, and Buenos Noches, among others.
The Gr.2 Tea Rose Stakes will see fillies stepping up in ground and the Waterhouse/Bott team is expected to have strong representation with horses like Autumn Ballet, Platinum Jubilee, Summer Loving and Tropical Squall.
The Gr.3 Bill Ritchie Handicap will feature horses vying for Epsom credentials, with contenders like Barbie's Fox, Olentia, and Pericles expected to have strong support.
Finally, the last of the stakes races is the Gr.3 Kingston Town Stakes, which is likely to attract horses heading to the Metrop. Derby winner Manzoice is expected to be stoking up to these trips, but Just Fine's impressive performance in his first race makes him a strong contender.
