Another record was broken on the first day of the Goff’s Orby sale when the highest priced colt was sold to Godolphin for €625,000. The colt, a descendant of the famous Kingman, was from Dane Street and was consigned by Stauffenberg Bloodstock. He is a half-brother to the Group One winner Skitter Scatter and to the dam of this year’s Group One Belmont Oaks Invitational winner Aspen Grove.
Godolphin, a well-known global thoroughbred breeding and racing team, has high hopes for this colt. Anthony Stroud, who purchased six yearlings at the sale for Godolphin, commented on the sale saying, “We’re delighted to have purchased this colt, he was always on our list as one of the standout horses in the sale. He has a great pedigree and the physical attributes to match, so we’re looking forward to seeing how he develops.”
The Kingman colt from Dane Street was not the only notable purchase made by Godolphin at this sale. They also purchased a filly by Dubawi and a colt by Sea the Stars among others. These purchases demonstrate the team's commitment to breeding top quality thoroughbreds and their desire to remain competitive in the racing world.
The Kingman colt from Dane Street was one of the most popular horses at the sale due to his impressive pedigree and physical attributes. His half-sister Skitter Scatter has already proved herself to be a top-class racehorse, winning the Moyglare Stud Stakes in 2018, while their dam has produced this year’s Group One Belmont Oaks Invitational winner Aspen Grove.
The Godolphin team has a reputation for producing some of the best thoroughbreds in the world. Their success in the racing world is due to their commitment to breeding and training top quality horses. With the purchase of the Kingman colt from Dane Street, they have added another potential star to their stable.
