Preview: Midnight Sands Hopes To Make The Most Of Dubai World Cup Night Start In The Gr.2 Godolphin Mile

• AMBASSADORIAL (USA): Owned and trained by Jane Chapple-Hyam, was runner up in his last at Chelmsford. Might be outclassed in this field.

 

• AVANT GARDE (USA): The 4YO son of Tonalist was impressive in his recent runs. Gustavo Delgado definitely stands a winning chance.

 

• BLOWN BY WIND (GB): The Salem bin Ghadayer gelding was disappaointing his last two runs. The son of Invincible Spirit definitely has the potential to do well, however his form might be lacking here.

 

• CHIEFDOM (USA): Another one of Bin Ghadayer’s pupils. The 6YO The Factor gelding was runner up being Midnight Sands in his last outing – The Gr.3 Burj Nahaar. Definitely one to watch.

 

• DIEU DU VIN (JPN) – The Japanese raider finished a good 4th in his last start in the Gr.2 Tokai Tv Hai Tokai Stakes. Although his draw leaves him in a not so favourable position, he has the best ability to overcome his challenges.

 

• DUBAI MIRAGE (IRE) – The Saeed bin Suroor trained son of Dubawi performed below par in his last outing but was runner up in his previous start. May not have trifecta potential.

 

• GOLDEN GOAL (IRE) – A stable mate of Midnight Sands, the 7YO son of Dark Angel was a soild fourth in his last outing. This may not be the ideal race for him.

 

• MIDNIGHT SANDS (USA) – The prodigal son who has returned to claim his spotlight. The son of Speightstown is the one that nobody wanted at the sales but is the one to beat in this contest. Enough said!

 

• PARSIMONY (USA): The Reddam Racing owned American raider, was runner up in a small but strong and well-matched field at Santa Anita in December. The in-form 5YO son of Dominus will have to overcome a wide draw to get ahead in the game.

 

• RODAINI (USA): Satish Seemar’s pupil was disappointing in his last run but was runner up in his previous start. May be outclassed in this company.

 

• ROMAN ROSSO (ARG): Rodaini’s stablemate was fourth in the Gr.2 Al Maktoum Challenge R1 with Military Law astern and finished third in the Gr.1 Al Maktoum Challenge R3 won by Salute The Soldier. The son of Roman Ruler has to improve considerably to be good for this company.

 

• SECRET AMBITION (GB): This Seemar pupil is the one to watch. The 8YO son of Exceed And Excel has speed in his pedigree and has drawn well.

 

• SNAPPER SINCLAIR (USA): Another American raider trained by Hall of Famer Steven Asmussen, has been described as one of the most versatile horses in toip-class racing today. Jeff Bloom, founder and managing director of Bloom Racing Stable, said. “If you look at his résumé, he's been so versatile, run against some of the best horses in the country. You like to see these kind of horses get their day in the sun, and he definitely got it today.” Bloom Racing Stable is also a co-owner of Midnight Bisou. Snapper Sinclair finished second in the US$250,000 Gr.1 Cigar Mile Handicap and won his next start in an Oaklawn allowance race last month. Great winning potential and a big threat to Midnight Sands.

 

• TUZ (USA): The 4YO son of Oxbow finished third in the Gr.3 Burj Nahaar, with Midnight Sands astern. The Zabeel Stables’ charge has the potential to land in top five.

 

• URBAN ICON (GB): The Saudi raider trained by S S Alkahtani, finished third in his start but could be outclassed in this match.
