Frankie Dettori achieved his first victory in Qatar Racing silks with Lunar Impact, as they emerged as winners in an allowance race at Santa Anita on Saturday. This came just a day after Frankie rode three winners out of four races at the same track.
On Saturday, Lunar Impact, a 4YO Zoustar filly, easily clinched her second win without any trouble, having previously won a maiden special weight at Del Mar in September. Under the guidance of Frankie Dettori, she broke from stall 1 and quickly took the lead, ultimately winning by a comfortable 2¼ lengths. After the triumph, Frankie even treated the viewers to his famous ‘Flying Dismount’. Lunar Impact is trained by Dan Blacker and partially owned by D K Racing LLC, Radley Equine Inc., Rick Gold, and Dave Odmark.
David Redvers and Boomer Bloodstock purchased Lunar Impact at the Tattersalls October Book 2 Yearling Sale in 2021. Paddy Barrett bred her out of his Compton Place mare Button Moon, who has produced three winners and is a Stakes-placed sprinter.
Notably, Frankie had already won three out of his four races at Santa Anita on Friday, showcasing his top-notch skills in what is his 36th professional season in the saddle.
