Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club is hosting a six-race card on Thursday, just five days after their marquee fixtures. The only Thoroughbred contest on the program has attracted the most interest, with 13 horses chasing the AED80,000 purse.
This race brings together virtually the same field that competed a month ago in a 2400m (0-75) handicap won by Ismail Mohammed trainee Ala Kaifi. Both Mohammed representatives are likely to be the ones to stop here, with stablemates Ala Kaifi and Desert Snake returning to the stewardships of Gabriele Malune and Adrie de Vries, respectively. The field is a replica of the previous C&D in January, with many horses reopposing. Joint top-rated One World, trained by Bhupat Seemar, could be the only real surprise factor for Mohammed's pair.
On the Purebred Arabian side, Hamad Al Marar's ES Sudani seems a perfect fit for the 0-90 handicap sprint over 1200m (TIME) to return to the winners' enclosure in the hands of Richard Mullen.
A few others that could appreciate the cut in trip, such as Almotajalliah, Al Laith, and Ammar, winners over 1600m here. Taajer, a two-time C&D victor here last season, could win the 2200m 0-80 handicap for UAE bred horses, which will also feature a pair of maidens and a leg of the Wathba Stallions Cup for Private Owners.
