The Bapco Energies Horseracing Cups celebrated its 24th meeting of the season at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club racecourse in Al Raffa, Sakhir. The event was graced by the presence of Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the deputy chairman of REHC, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport member, and the vice-president of Supreme Council for Environment.
Buffer ZoneBuffer Zone, owned by Victorious, emerged as the winner of the eighth round of the tournament, covering 1,200m straight for imported horses. The Boy Wonder, owned by M & E Racing, claimed the seventh round over 1,200m straight for locally bred horses. Raahy, owned by Husain and Abbas Aqeel Hasan, secured the sixth round for imported horses over 1,000m.
While Lamie Jee, owned by Al Adiyat Racing, won the fifth round over 1,400m for locally bred horses. Fleet Admiral, owned by Abdulla Fawzi Nass, raced to victory in the fourth round over 1,400m for imported horses, and Vegas Jack, owned by Al Mohamediya Racing, won the third round over 1,600m for imported horses.
The opening round over 1,200m was won by Al Krush 1786, owned by Al Roudha. Amwaj, owned by Mohammed Khalid Abdulrahim, took home the second round for locally bred horses over 2,000m.
Bapco Energies Group CEO, Mark Thomas, presented the winning trainer's assistant Ishaq Murad with the fourth and eighth rounds' trophies. Hussain and Abbas Aqeel were handed the sixth-round trophy as the winning owners, and Haider Ebrahim received the second-round trophy as the winning trainer. Hussain Al Dailami was awarded the first-round trophy as the winning trainer by Mark Thomas.
Shaikh Hashim bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa was given the third-round trophy by Bapco CEO Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery, while Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa was presented with the seventh-round trophy. The winning jockey Lee Newman received the fifth-round trophy from Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the CEO of Bapco Gas Company.
