According to the Dubai Racing media team, Senor Buscador, the winner of the Gr.1 Saudi Cup, has arrived at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai for his upcoming participation in the US$12 million Gr.1 Dubai World Cup on March 30.
Along with him, Forever Young, the victor of the Gr.3 Saudi Derby, also made an entrance on the racetrack grounds at approximately 4 p.m. local time.
The day after Senor Buscador's impressive win over Ushba Tesoro in the US$20 million Saudi Cup, Joe Peacock Jr., who owns and breeds the 5YO horse, tweeted "on to Dubai."
This was Senor Buscador's first Group One win, and he achieved it under the guidance of trainer Todd Fincher. Prior to the Saudi Cup, Senor Buscador had lost to 2023 Gr.1 Preakness Stakes winner National Treasure by just half a length in the 27th Jan Gr.1 Pegasus World Cup Invitational.
Senor Buscador and Ushba Tesoro are set to renew their rivalry in the upcoming Dubai World Cup, with Tesoro aiming to defend his title. Meanwhile, Forever Young, an undefeated 3YO from Japan and son of Reel Steel, will represent Japan in the Gr.2 UAE Derby on the Dubai World Cup undercard.
Forever Young broke the track record for 1,600 meters by about two seconds in the Saudi Derby, catching Book'em Danno in the final strides. If Forever Young secures the 100-Road to the Derby points allotted to the winner of the 1,900-meter UAE Derby, it is likely that a trip to the Gr.1Kentucky Derby will be on the cards, according to its connections.
