Sovereign Spirit, representing Al Afoo Racing, triumphed in the Bahrain Gold Cup, sponsored by stc, in yesterday’s Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club event at Sakhir.
Trained by Jaber Ramadhan and ridden by Soufiane Saadi, Sovereign Spirit outpaced competitors over 2,000 meters, with Panning For Gold, from Al Mohamediya Racing, securing second place and Chronograph, from Al Adiyat Racing, finishing third.
In the seventh race, Elwasme of Al Mohamediya Racing seized victory in the Bahrain Cup for imported horses over 1,800 meters, with Be Lucky My Son, from Bin Isaan Racing, taking second place and Battyeford Boy, owned by Abdulla AlGaoud, claiming third.
Social Distancing, representing Adiyat Racing, emerged victorious in the sixth race, the stc Bahrain Cup, while Swift Asset, owned by Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, claimed the stc Bahrain Spring Cup in the fifth race.
Torpedo, owned by Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, clinched the fourth race, securing the stc Pay Cup, and Celtic Champion, from Al Mohamediya Racing, won the third race for the stc Bahrain Cup.
Mughayer, owned by Mohammed Yousif Sarhan, claimed victory in the second race for the stc Jusoor Cup, while Al Hamdany 1810, representing Victorious, triumphed in the opening race, lifting the stc WAHO Cup.
Luna, owned by Al Mohamediya Racing, secured victory in the second round over 1,200m straight, and Victorious’ Kuheilan Al Adiyat 1894 triumphed in the opening round over 1,400m.
Ayman Al Moayed, chairman of ASRY, presented the second-round trophy to winning trainer Ali Majeed. Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, executive vice president of ASRY, presented the third-round trophy to Abdullah Al Shaer and the sixth-round trophy to Shaikh Nooh bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Nabeel Khaled Kanoo, chairman of Bahrain Airport Services, presented the seventh-round trophy to Shaikh Nooh, while Louise Worton, head of Arabian Stables, presented the first-round trophy of Al Roudha Stud Cup to winning trainer Yousif Taher.
