Goffs, the renowned bloodstock auction house, has announced that it will be hosting a new breeze-up sale at Naas racecourse in Ireland in June 2025. The event is scheduled to take place on June 3-4 next year, with a practice breeze to be held on the day before the sale starts. Currently, there is only one breeze-up sale in the country, and more information about the new sale will be shared soon.
Henry Beeby, the CEO of Goffs group, expressed his excitement about this new collaboration with Naas racecourse. He said, "We are thrilled that Naas racecourse has agreed to host the trackwork to enable this exciting new breeze-up sale in Ireland. Naas is Goffs' local track, and one of the most progressive in the country, which is evident from the significant investment in the track and racecourse amenities in recent years."
He added that vendors have been requesting Goffs to organize an Irish breeze-up sale for some time now. The timing of this new sale, which will be held slightly later in the season, has been widely welcomed in our discussions with vendors, particularly in light of the changing season and climate. The early June dates will provide additional time for sales preparation and fall early enough in the Flat calendar to ensure strong demand for quality, ready-to-run two-year-olds.
Dermot Cantillon, the chairman of Naas Racecourse, expressed his commitment to the racing and bloodstock industry, saying, "The Naas racecourse philosophy is to facilitate the racing and the bloodstock industry when and where we can. This collaboration with Goffs to support the breeze-up sector is another manifestation of this ongoing commitment."
