Jebel Ali Racecourse is ushering in a new era of race-day experience with its newly minted pre-parade and saddling enclosure, designed to revolutionise spectator engagement at the Dubai venue.
The facility, crafted by Studio D.04, is positioning itself as a game-changer in how racing enthusiasts interact with the sport's build-up moments.
Track manager Mohamed Ahmed is spearheading this transformative project, which is setting new benchmarks in racing entertainment. "Our goal is to provide the full race-day experience," Ahmed explains. "This space lets fans witness key moments before the horses make their way to the parade ring, the race, and the finish line."
The crown jewel of the development is its rooftop terrace, offering panoramic views of both the racing action and Dubai's iconic skyline. The versatile space is already earmarked for corporate gatherings and post-race entertainment, marking a significant upgrade to the track's hospitality offering.
Jebel Ali, which opened its gates in 1990, has been home to numerous racing luminaries. Notable winners at the track include Seemar-trained Secret Asset, who landed the 2012 Jebel Ali Mile, before going on to capture the Gr.3 Mahab Al Shimaal at Meydan. The following year saw Treble Jig becoming the first horse to complete the Jebel Ali Stakes-Mile double.
The venue has maintained its position as one of the UAE's premier racing establishments, hosting significant pattern races throughout the season. Previous winners have gone on to achieve success at Dubai World Cup meetings, cementing the track's reputation as a proving ground for future stars.
The modernisation project represents a significant investment, estimated at US$12 million, reflecting the Emirates Racing Authority's commitment to enhancing racing infrastructure across the UAE.
"It's about creating an engaging environment where guests can connect with both the racing and the wonderful skyline of Dubai," Ahmed adds, highlighting the facility's dual focus on sport and socialising.
As the new season approaches, this development marks another milestone in Jebel Ali's evolution, promising to deliver an enhanced racing experience that honours the sport's traditions while embracing modern amenities.
