The Brad Cox-trained champion faces stiff competition from Señor Buscador, whose remarkable success in the Saudi Cup helped amass earnings exceeding US$12.9 million. Trained by Todd Pletcher, the 6YO entire is seeking redemption after finishing runner-up in last year's renewal.
Adding further depth to the contest, White Abarrio brings top-level credentials having landed both the Gr.1 Florida Derby and Gr.1 Whitney Stakes. The Rick Dutrow Jr-trained 5YO is bidding to improve upon his eighth-place finish in 2023.
The US$1 million Gr.1 Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational has attracted international sensation Nations Pride, already a dual Grade One winner in North America. He squares off against Formidable Man, successful in the Hollywood Derby, and Johannes, who claimed the Shoemaker Mile.
Completing the stellar card, the Gr.2 Pegasus World Cup Filly & Mare Turf features rising star She Feels Pretty, whose five victories include the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup. Sacred Wish brings consistent form to the table, whilst South American challenger Dona Clota and South African raider Bless My Stars add international intrigue to the US$500,000 contest.
Saudi Crown, meanwhile, demonstrated his class when landing the Gr.1 Pennsylvania Derby before bouncing back from Breeders' Cup disappointment with a commanding victory at Fair Grounds.
The meeting carries total prize money exceeding US$5.5 million across ten stakes races, featuring some of the sport's most accomplished performers competing over the historic Florida oval.
