The Widden Stud-consigned youngster, presented as Lot 489, is out of Group Three winner Humma Humma, making him a half-brother to promising juvenile Price Tag, who recently finished fourth in the Gr.3 Maribyrnong Plate at Flemington.
Breaking the previous record of US$2.7m, this landmark acquisition is demonstrating the robust investment in premium bloodstock, with the colt's distinguished lineage attracting significant attention from leading industry figures.
