Sidi Star produced a commanding performance to break his maiden status in style, storming to a five-length victory in the Al Judhay Cup at Al Uqda Racecourse.
The 4YO colt, representing Al Falah Stud and trained by Hamad Al Jehani, demonstrated impressive tactical awareness under Jefferson Smith. Biding his time before unleashing a powerful drive in the straight, the combination proved unstoppable.
Al Jehani's successful afternoon continued as Wathnan Racing's charge Jayyash, partnered by Soufiane Saadi, claimed the Thoroughbred Handicap honours.
The day's supporting card saw Julian Colin Smart's Layeq secure victory in the Local Purebred Arabian Handicap with Gavin Matt Ryan aboard, while Ibrahim Saeed Al Malki's Sands Of Marra, piloted by Tomas Lukasek, dominated the Thoroughbred Handicap division.
Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club Deputy Director Saad Ali Al Kubaisi presented the trophies to the winning connections.
Earlier contests saw Kawaii D'Vialettes triumph for Ahmed Al Jehani and jockey Szczepan Mazur, Rabee' Al Shahania score for Dr. Fahad Salman F S Al Hajri under Faleh Bughanaim, and Tiding succeed for Jassim Ghazali with Marco Casamento in the saddle.
