Rosalina Has leads strong maternal line offerings at the inaugural Auctav January Sale, with CAVA Associates securing the Network mare for US$45,800. Carrying to Motivator, she hails from Hamel Stud's flourishing programme.
"She has a fantastic pedigree—by Network, with plenty of scope—and ticks all the right boxes to breed for both racing and sales. She will foal down and be covered in France before heading to Ireland," says Cécile Adonias of CAVA Associates.
From the same distinguished line, Rolanda Has realises US$28,300 to Julien Jouanne, who is eyeing future covering plans. "It's a top-class family, and I went to see this mare beforehand and really liked her," he notes. "The fact that she's in foal to Moises Has is an added bonus. Depending on availability, I hope to send her to either Goliath du Berlais or Jigme."
Léon du Berlais attracts significant attention as the first share offering, with Jean-Pierre Coiffier securing the investment through BLM Bloodstock at US$28,300. The half-share in leading National Hunt sire Cokoriko changes hands at US$21,800 to Carlos de Sousa's Hamel Stud through the same agency.
JH Bloodstock secures a Bubble Gift share at US$16,300, with Joffret Huet explaining: "Bubble Gift introduces Nathaniel's bloodline. I firmly believe in this stallion's versatility, and I plan to send him a National Hunt mare."
Onyx, by Orpen and carrying to Goken, leads the Flat breeding stock at US$18,500 to partnership interests. AD Bloodstock secures two juveniles from Haras de Colleville - a Kendargent filly out of Via Gallica and a Galiway colt from Golena.
Auctav General Manager Arnaud Angéliaume highlights the sale's technological advances: "The January Sale really allowed us to test our new reserve price indicator. We saw significant interest in the live auction feed, not just from active clients but also from those looking to familiarise themselves with the new display."
He adds: "For the Rouges Terres Sale in April, we will introduce another layer of transparency: in the lead-up to the auction, reserve prices will be published—but only visible to clients with a registered bidder account. This follows a model similar to that used in Japan."
