Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) will be hosting a two-day Eid Al Fitr Festival tomorrow and Friday, featuring a number of valuable cups with night racing adding to the atmosphere of the kingdom-wide celebrations.
Tomorrow's highlight will be the 2,000-metre Majid Rashid Alzayani Cup for imported horses with a purse of US$10,600. Six runners are declared for this contest, representing leading ownership operations including Victorious, Al Khaldiya, Al Mohamediya Racing, Al Afoo Racing, and Al Mallah Racing.
Racing begins at 5.30pm with a nine-race card that also features the Late Shaikh Rashid Bin Mohamed Al Khalifa Cup for imported horses and the REHC Cup for local breeds, both offering US$7,950 in prize money.
The festival's richest prize comes on Friday with the Late Mr. Abdulla Ahmed Nass Cup over 1,400m for imported horses offering a substantial US$26,500 in total prize money. Ten quality runners are set to line up, representing prominent stables including Victorious, Al Mohamediya, Al Afoo, and Al Adiyat Racing, alongside other notable owners Fawzi Nass and Hasan Mefareh Alajmi.
Friday's eight-race card, beginning at 4pm, features three additional cup races. The Sarens Nass Cup and the Royal Golf Club Cup, both for imported horses, each carry US$10,600 in prize money, while the Applied Science University Cup offers US$7,950 to imported runners.
The event continues the track's commitment to showcasing top-quality racing as part of Bahrain's cultural celebrations, with the two-day format providing opportunities for a variety of competitors across different classifications.
