Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) is primed for a scintillating season finale with a double-header today and tomorrow at its magnificently illuminated turf course in Sakhir.
The 2024-25 national horseracing campaign reaches its climactic conclusion with the 29th and 30th meetings taking place on consecutive evenings, each featuring eight-race cards commencing at 5.30pm.
Headlining tonight's programme are the Future Stars Champions Cup and the SGB Future Stars Sprint Cup, both offering US$21,200 in prize money with locally bred horses competing. The Future Stars Champions Cup will be contested over 1,600 metres, while runners in the SGB Future Stars Sprint Cup will tackle the 1,000m trip.
Today's card also showcases the REHC Cup, the Bahrain Turf Club Cup, the BAS Cup, and the Al Rouda Cup, completing an enticing evening of racing entertainment.
The Saturday card is spearheaded by the Owner's Cup which carries a handsome US$31,800 in prize money. This prestigious contest for local breeds will be run over the testing 2,000m distance.
Adding further quality to tomorrow's programme are the Bahrain Golf Cup and the Champions Sprint, both offering US$26,500 in prize money.
The Bapco Energies Mile Cup and the Bapco Energies Cup each feature US$13,250 in winnings, while the Bapco Energies Prestige Cup and the Bapco Energies Victory Sprint offer US$10,600 apiece. The Bapco Energies Arabian Cup completes the fixture with US$4,000 in prize money.
Entry is free to all racing enthusiasts attending either meeting at the REHC this weekend.
