Veteran South Australian trainer Gordon Richards says you can write Gytrash off at your own peril.
The star-sprinter, who ran third in the 2020 Everest (1200m) at Randwick, is back in work preparing for another tilt at the Gr.1 Lightning Stakes (1000m) at Flemington next month, a race he won two years ago.
Richards, who trains Gytrash in partnership with Damien Moyle, although slightly disappointed with his Everest campaign last year, says there were genuine excuses for his below-expectation run and is confident the Group 1-winning gelding can bounce back where his career kick-started.
Gytrash is currently equal fifth favourite, $15 with Sportsbet, to take out the Gr.1 Lightning Stakes at Flemington on February 19.
