Ridden by Lanfranco Dettori, Country Grammar settled mid-field behind Life Is Good and Midnight Burbon in the 2000m contest, then bid for the lead, secured it, and drew away. Hot Rod Charlie was second and Japanese Chuwa Wizard finished third.
Bob Baffert secured his fifth Dubai World Cup win while Dettori claimed his fourth.
