Speaker’s Corner Aimed At Gr.2 Pat O’Brien Stakes

Despite the presence of several good local sprinters, Bill Mott-trained Carter Handicap-winner Speaker's Corner is all set to win the 7f Gr.2 Pat O'Brien Stakes at Del Mar this year.

The 4YO secured three consecutive graded stakes wins in 2022, culminating in the Gr.1 Carter Handicap. The Godolphin homebred lost his next two. But Speaker's Corner finished third to Flightline in the Gr.1 Metropolitan Handicap (Gr.1) and second to Life Is Good in Gr.2 John A. Nerud Stakes.

Mike Smith will be aboard him for the first time from post 8. The O'Brien offers the winner a "Win and You're In" berth to the Gr.1 Big Ass Fans Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile.
