Trainer Joe Pride confirmed Group 1 winner Eduardo (Host-Blushing, by Fantastic Light) has been passed fit by vets and will run in the $3 million Nature Strip Stakes at Rosehill next week, reports punters.com.au.
“Eduardo ran well below par in The Everest but the vets have gone right over the horse and there is nothing to hang my hat on to explain his run,'' Pride said.
"I took on board what Nash said but I can't fault the horse today (Tuesday). So, we plan to press on to the Nature Strip Stakes next week. We know Eduardo loves Rosehill, he's run some of his best races there.''
Run at set weights and penalties for 3YO+, the Nature Strip Stakes will be over 1300m, and Pride will aim three of his stable at the race: Eduardo, The Everest runner up Private Eye (Al Maher-Confidential Queen, by Shamardal), and Group 2 winner Brutality (Shamus Award-Star Salute, by General Nediym).
"Private Eye has come through The Everest in great shape and I'm really happy with Brutality, he's coming along nicely for races like The Hunter and The Gong,” revealed Pride.
