Broker Jun Park reports that grade 2-winning and stakes-placed stallion Concert Tour has arrived at Jeju-do Farm in South Korea to begin his stud career. In races owned by Gary and Mary West, their 4YO son of Street Sense came in first. On January 15, 2021, at Santa Anita Park, he won at the first try. He then won the San Vicente Stakes (Gr.2) and the Rebel Stakes in rapid succession (Gr.2). After pressing the pace and taking the lead in the stretch, he was eventually passed and finished third in the Arkansas Derby (Gr.1). At the end of his career, he had a 3-1-1 record in eight races and $881,303 in earnings. Concert Tour was purchased by the Korea Thoroughbred Breeders Association in August, and he arrived in Korea on September 14th, as reported by Park.
The stakes-winning Tapit mare Purse Strings is the dam of Concert Tour. Purse Strings is a daughter of My Red Porsche, a half-sister to the stakes-placed My White Corvette. My White Corvette is the dam of Stardom Bound, the champion 2YO filly and multiple-grade 1 winner. This year, Street Sense, owned by Darley Stallions, made history by being the first horse to win both the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (Gr.1) and the Kentucky Derby (Gr.1). So far, he has produced 89 stakes winners, including the young stallions McKinzie and Maxfield, both of whom won their respective grade 1s.
