Dramatised - This European filly has been the betting favourite in each of her three career runs. Her best result came at Royal Ascot, where she beat Love Reigns by a wide margin. At odds of 15-1 or higher, she is a fantastic bargain for Trainer Karl Burke.
Love Reigns- The grass sprint is a specialty for trainer Wesley Ward, and this filly can compete with the best of them. Her first race at this distance was a triumph, and her most recent victory at Saratoga makes her one of the most notable North American challengers. Dramatized bested her in a fight on the town square.
Oxymore- First-time out, Chad Brown's gelding made a big splash. When he was looking defeated in the Skidmore, he was up close, but as soon as Jose Ortiz made some space, he sped off and drew back.
Mischief Magic - This colt from the stable of trainer Charlie Appleby is a serious contender. He's proven he can pass fast horses and has a victory in a tight turn.
The Platinum Queen - It's quite rare for a 2YO to win a Gr.1 race, let alone beat off older competitors to do so.
Private Creed- While he may be a bit slower than the race's frontrunners, he should have an excellent position from which to finish strongly. He has already won on this track, so Steve Asmussen can expect him to arrive late.
Persian Force- In Europe, he has been consistent, quick, and refined. Last time out he narrowly defeated Mischief Magic, but his connections have historically struggled at the Breeders' Cup.
Lady Hollywood- The filly has a perfect 4-for-4 record on the turf, but she may have thrown away her best chance at a fifth victory by being drawn last.
Speed Boat Beach- He is not here because of the surface but because of the depth. The Speakeasy Stakes at Santa Anita was a grass sprint, and this runner will see greater competition up front than he did in that race.
Sharp Aza Tack- While he could benefit from the shorter distance, his most recent outing suggested he may be at his best when given the lead from the outset. Due to the proximity of Tyler's Tribe and Speed Boat Beach, he won't have any time to rest in the beginning.
American Apple- When considering her prior four races, which would make her a risky bet in an allowance race, her win at 47-1 is even more impressive.
Tyler's Tribe - Even though this gelding is quite interesting and talented, he probably won't be able to show off his skills on his first try at turf. Since he is up against numerous established turf runners and has little turf breeding, he will have to fight to the finish.
