State of Rest (IRE), a four-time Gr.1 winner in four nations and the winner of Australia's Cox Plate last year, will begin his stud career in the Northern Hemisphere at Rathbarry Stud before relocating to Newgate Farm in Australia later this year.
State of Rest, who was sired by the Australian stallion Starspangledbanner, will charge a price of €25,000 (A$38,559) per breeding season.
Out of 13 total starts, State of Rest won five times at ages 2, 3, and 4. Four of those victories came in Gr.1 races ranging in distance from 1200 to 2100 metres.
In doing so, he hopes to emulate the likes of Savabeel, So You Think, Shamus Award, and Ocean Park, all of whom have sired Cox Plate winners.
