In the last session of the two-day New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale, Andrew Williams, a bloodstock agent based in Sydney, Australia, paid $550,000 to get Lot 307, a colt by Hellbent presented by Kilgravin Lodge.
Williams commented, "I believed he was one of the standout horses of the sale." I have a lot of respect for the stallion Hellbent since he is an exceptionally swift-looking horse.
The trainer said, "This horse is really well put together and breezed beautifully. Also, he was suggested by reputable horseman Eion Kemp.
It's for a new customer who specifically requested a horse suited for sprinting.
It's possible that the horse's chance will come in Australia, but either way, he'll make it to Hong Kong in good time.
The horse is a descendant of Keeper, who won the Gr.1 Goodwood Handicap (1400m), and is by Hellbent, a promising young stallion by I Am Invincible out of the winning Magic Albert mare Title Holder.
Successful racehorse progenitor The oldest of Hellbent's offspring are three years old; they include top performers such as Miss Hellfire, Divine Glory, Hell Hath No Fury, Bohemian Daisy, Hell Queen, Warby, and Awestruck.
Eion Kemp of Kilgravin Lodge, who relied on the eyes of bloodstock agents Bevan Smith and Johnny McKeever to purchase the attractive colt as a yearling from the Yarraman Park draught at Inglis Classic for A$120,000, had an exceptional pinhooking outcome with the colt. "New Zealand Racing Desk"
