Godolphin makes four wins in a row winning Queensland Day

Riden by emerging star Zac Lloyd for trainer James Cummings, Athelric won by a half-length over the 6YO gelded I Am Invincible, Key Lago, with the 4YO gelded Mikki Isle (JPN) Draonstone charging home for third. Athelric, who has raced 19 times for a total of $669,905 in winnings, won the Listed Queensland Day Stakes at Eagle Farm in June.

Godolphin's spokesman Paul Reid stated, "He is a really quick horse, and he showed that by matching them early before taking a sit." Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock (BAFNZ) purchased Ida, a winning Lonhro mare, for $200,000 at the 2021 National Broodmare Sale on behalf of Jonathon Munz. Ida has produced three winners, although only Athelric has raced.
