Djedahess shows class on debut for Ben Taher
The opening race of Al Uqda's Sealine Cup Division 2 meeting saw Yousef Ben Taher's debutant Djedahess demonstrate impressive finishing power in the 2,100m Purebred Arabian Maiden.
The 4YO daughter of Dahess, wearing the silks of Dhafi Rashid H A Al-Marri, swept past early leaders Al Markhiah and Asseaf Al Shahania in the home straight under Saleh Salem Al-Marri to score by one and a half lengths.
Ghassan lands maiden success for Al-Dafea stable
The winning run continued as Osama Omer E Al-Dafea's Ghassan stormed home in the 1,300m Thoroughbred Maiden under Soufiane Saadi. The 4YO Footstepsinthesand colt tracked the pace set by Glory Of The Stars before asserting in the closing stages to deny Swear by a length.
Doha Bu Thaila makes stunning Qatar debut
Saadi completed a quick-fire double aboard the Wathnan Racing-owned Doha Bu Thaila, who made a taking Qatar debut in the Local Thoroughbred Novice. The Alban de Mieulle-trained Harry Angel filly powered clear in the final 300m to score by two and a half lengths from Al Bahar.
Harb produces stunning late surge
The evening concluded with a heart-stopping finish as Ibrahim Saeed Al Malki's seasoned campaigner Harb claimed his sixth career victory with a spectacular late thrust. The 5YO Time Test gelding, representing Al Rabban Racing, produced a devastating turn of foot under Tomas Lukasek to deny Al Buraq by a short head in the 1,400m Conditions event.
