Preview: Battle Of The Lords In The Gr.1 Dubai Turf

Other contenders in the field are as follows:

• AL SUHAIL (GB) – Saddled by Charlie Appleby, was third behind Lord Glitters in the Gr.1 Jebel Hatta. One of the key contenders in this contest.

 

• COURT HOUSE (IRE) – Consistent and in-form performer. Simon Crisford’s pupil could be hard to beat.

 

• EPIC HERO (FR) – Another Simon Crisford charge, will be out classed in this company.
• EQTIRAAN (IRE) – The Shadwell owned colt is out of his depths in this race.

 

• FELIX (GB) – The Lope de Vega will be making his debut at Meydan. In his last start the 5YO was runner-up in the Gr.3 Winter Derby Stakes. Could be a tough contender.

 

• FIRST CONTACT (IRE) – Satish Seemar trained gelding was runner up at this track in the Gr.2 Zabeel Mile but disappointed in the Gr.1 Jebel Hatta. Could be tough to beat when in-form.

 

• GLEN FORCE (IRE) – Bahrain raider, has been undefeated in his last three starts on his home turf. The son of Gleneagles will be an interesting to watch in his Meydan debut.

 

• LAND OF LEGENDS (IRE) – The 5YO son of Iffraj won the Gr.2 Al Fahidi Fort by 8 lengths on this track in January but this will be a tough crowd to defeat.

 

• LORD GLITTERS (FR) – A crowd favourite wherever he goes, the O’Meara trained grey gelding is quite in-form and will be difficult to beat.

 

• LORD NORTH (IRE) – A John Gosden pupil, the 5YO Dubawi gelding will be making his first outing after five months under top international jockey Frankie Dettori. He was a solid fourth of a field of ten in the Gr.1 Breeders' Cup Turf in November and looks well since freshening up.

 

• REGAL REALITY (GB) – Sir Michael Stoute’s charge, was runner up in the Gr. 2 Joel Stakes last September and could be quite powerful in his Meydan debut.

 

• VIN DE GARDE (JPN) – The Shadai Farm owned 5YO will be making his Meydan debut under Mickael Barzalona, after a 48 day break. The son of Deep Impact was fourth in the Gr.3 Tokyo Shimbun Hai but unlikely to be able to hold a candle against Lord Glitters.

 

• ZAINHOM (USA) – The Shadwell owned son of Street Cry was disappointing in his last outing at this track - The Gr.1 Jebel Hatta. It will be a big ask for him to beat several in-form contenders in this start.
