Desleigh Forster will be at Randwick on Saturday to saddle up Group 1 winner Apache Chase (Better Than Ready) as the gelding aims to gain a slot in the Everest with a win in the Premiere Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m).
The Kingsford-Smith Cup (Gr 1, 1300m) winner will take in the Group 2 contest first-up under rider Jim Byrne and Forster confirmed that a spot in the Everest was the ultimate goal.
“Apache Chase is going really good and hopefully he can get a good track and get a slot into the Everest,” the trainer told Racing Queensland.
When last in work, Apache Chase finished second first up before winning at Group 1 level second up where he defeated Godolphin’s possible Everest contender Paulele.
