Hill ’n’ Dale celebrated several milestones of note in 2022, not the least of which were 8 Eclipse Award Finalists among the farm stallion's progeny, culminating in 5 Eclipse Champions: Eclipse Champion Two-Year-Old Male Forte by Violence, Eclipse Champion Three-Year- Old Filly Nest by Curlin, Eclipse Champion Older Dirt Female Malathaat by Curlin, Eclipse Champion Male Sprinter Elite Power by Curlin and Eclipse Champion Female Sprinter Goodnight Olive by Ghostzapper.
Hill 'n' Dale at Xalapa's Curlin captured his own piece of history on Jan. 26 during the Eclipse Awards ceremony, during which he became the first sire in the program's 52-year history to be represented by three unique champions in the same year."
Curlin has sired runners who have earned over $125 million, achieved primarily by his 90 lifetime Stakes Winners. Of note, in the 37-year history of the Breeders' Cup, Curlin is the only sire to be represented by 3 winners on the same day. He sired 12 Stakes Winners / 10 of which were Graded, 34 Stakes Horses / 25 of which were Graded and nearly $20 million in 2022 progeny earnings. He was one of a handful of sires in the past 20 years to have his yearlings average over $1 million at Saratoga (with 8 sold).
