Wooded's Rapid Rise At Stud
Wooded, a son of Wootton Bassett, built his reputation on the racecourse with repeated Group-level form at two years old before stepping up to win the Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp (Gr.1) as a three-year-old.
That racecourse pedigree has translated directly into results at stud. Wooded currently leads the second-crop sire rankings in France, a position underpinned by two individual Group 1 performers from his first crop to reach the track. Woodshauna has already claimed the Prix Jean Prat (Gr.1), while Jawwal was narrowly beaten into second in the Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp (Gr.1) — the same race that defined Wooded's own racing career.
The half-share now on offer carries an annual entitlement of one nomination to the stallion, giving the buyer a recurring breeding opportunity built around a sire whose runners are already operating at the highest level.
Palace Pier's Champion Miler Legacy
The second addition to the catalogue is a breeding right to Palace Pier, a son of Kingman whose unbeaten juvenile season gave way to a three-year-old campaign that yielded victories in the Prix Jacques Le Marois (Gr.1) at Deauville and the St James's Palace Stakes (Gr.1) at Royal Ascot.
He carried that form into his four-year-old season, repeating his Prix Jacques Le Marois (Gr.1) success and adding the Queen Anne Stakes (Gr.1) and the Lockinge Stakes (Gr.1) to a record that established him as a two-time Champion Miler.
Palace Pier's stud career is following a similar trajectory. His progeny already include Group 2 winner Royal Fixation, who also finished third in the Cheveley Park Stakes (Gr.1), together with Group 3 winners A Bit Of Spirit, Southend and Dr Omran — a spread of black-type form across his early runners.
