Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman have a strong team of horses with a diverse range of abilities for the upcoming Melbourne and Sydney features. Moody gave a detailed rundown of each horse's potential program and grand final.
One horse that stands out is I Wish I Win, which is a 5YO gelding with a super jump out last week and a little gallop last Tuesday. The horse is aiming for The Everest on October 14, with its potential program being the Memsie Stakes on September 2.
Another notable horse is Spanish Mission, an 8YO horse aiming for the Melbourne Cup on November 7. Its potential program includes the Makybe Diva Stakes on September 16, Turnbull Stakes on October 7, and Caulfield Cup on October 21. Moody stated that Spanish Mission will be trialed over 1200m on Tuesday and will most likely go to the Makybe.
Fame is a 4YO gelding aiming for country cups, with its potential program being the 1700m Open Handicap. According to Moody, Fame and Red Sun Sensation are mile-¼, mile-½ stakes-performed horses that could be going to Bendigo, Cranbourne, and Moe, with the level picked to ensure they can win a race.
Pounding, a 5YO gelding, is aiming for the Toorak Handicap on October 14, with its potential program being the Feehan Stakes on September 9, Underwood Stakes on September 23, and Turnbull Stakes on October 7. Moody stated that there is a race every day for Pounding, and they will let form dictate whether he ends up in the Toorak, Underwood, or Turnbull.
Chain of Lightning is a 5YO mare that has just come back from Queensland. There is no target in mind for her yet, and they gave her an extended break since she was in work for a long time.
She Dances is a 4YO mare that is low grade stakes mares' races and has no specific targets. Sigh, a 5-year-old mare, will run in The Heath on September 2 for 1100m. Moody stated that they will plod along and see if they can build on her resume, and she has won six out of nine races. Although she may not be playing A-grade in the spring, there are many nice B and C graders that she can compete against.
Legacies, a 3YO filly, has a grand final of the Golden Rose on September 23, Flight Stakes on September 30, and Thousand Guineas on November 18. Its potential program includes the McNeil Stakes on September 2 and the Atlantic Jewel Stakes on September 9. Moody said that Legacies won a jump out last Tuesday, and if they don't think she's quite ready for the McNeil, she has the Atlantic Jewel a week later. They also mentioned that distance is something they need to work out, and the Flight Stakes is probably a realistic aim for Legacies.
Mollynickers, another 3YO filly, is yet to have a grand final, with her potential program being the Atlantic Jewel Stakes. Moody stated that she will trial on Tuesday, and they have the same options as Legacies for her.
Autumn Angel, a 3YO filly, has a grand final of the VRC Oaks on November 9. Her potential program includes the 3YO Maiden Sandown on the 1st of September, Oaks Trial on September 24, Edward Manifold Stakes on October 7, and Ethereal Stakes on October 21. Moody stated that Autumn Angel has a deep staying pedigree on the dam side, and the next six or eight weeks will tell whether she is mature enough and good enough to participate.
