Alshinfarah, promising filly from Sheikha Hissa-owned Shadwell is set for a French outing planned by Kevin Philippart De Foy. The 2YO had a successful debut when winning a Doncaster maiden by half a length in July. She then went on to win a seven-furlong novice at Haydock comfortably under a penalty, defeating William Haggas' Remaadd by a length and a quarter.
The win became even more remarkable as the second horse won a Goodwood maiden by an impressive four and a half lengths over the weekend. Philippart De Foy plans to take Alshinfarah to France, with the Prix d'Aumale at Longchamp as the target if the ground is favorable.
The trainer said, “She is in very good form, William Haggas’ horse won at Goodwood and that was good to see. The filly is entered in France in the Prix d’Aumale at Longchamp next week, it’s a one-mile fillies’ Group Three. She is quite well related so the goal now is to try to get some black type. It seems to be a good place to go, it’s the right timing and as long as there is decent ground we will be aiming there.
“She is very straightforward, Jim (Crowley) was pleased with her. It was the first time he’d sat on her and she gave him a great feel, it would be great if she could step up again and try to do something nice in a better race.”
Alshinfarah Sets Off At A Brisk Pace
The recent wins of Alshinfarah mark the start of a relatively fresh connection between Shadwell and the trainer based in Newmarket. The latter is understandably delighted to have already brought some success to the major owner.
He said, "It’s good to start on a positive note, we are lucky to have those colours on the yard this year and hopefully there is more success to come.”
Inquisitively, a 2YO trained by Philippart De Foy, emerged victorious in the Listed Julia Graves Roses Stakes at York during the Ebor meeting's final day. The colt, now owned by Hong Kong-based owners, has a bright future ahead of him, with potential races at Town Moor before heading east.
The trainer said, “Inquisitively will be entered at Doncaster in two and a half weeks, and providing the ground doesn’t go soft he will run there in the Flying Childers.”
