Westover, the 4yo racehorse, has been preparing for the prestigious Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, which will take place in Paris in a week's time. The horse had a racecourse gallop at Salisbury on Friday, which was seen as a positive step towards the upcoming challenge.
Westover narrowly missed out on victory in the King George at Ascot in July, losing out to Hukum in a thrilling race, but has been kept fresh since then in preparation for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
Barry Mahon, the racing manager for Juddmonte, the owners of Westover, is eagerly anticipating the race in Paris. The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is one of the most prestigious races in the horse racing calendar, and Mahon is confident that Westover will be able to compete at the highest level. The horse has been in good form in recent weeks, and Mahon believes that the preparation for the race has been excellent.

He said, “Westover had a day out in Salisbury and everything went lovely. Ralph was very happy and Rob (Hornby) was very happy with him.
"He had a good blow afterwards and that will put him spot on. I think he’ll head away to the beach this week, which he usually does, and he’ll be ready to head to Longchamp then.
“His form is very good – he’s been competing with the best of them – and just looking at the long-range forecasts the weather looks pretty settled in Paris, so hopefully we might get nice ground, which would be great.”
