On the upcoming Sunday, world-renowned jockey Ryan Moore is anticipated to mount Vela Azul (JPN) in the Group Two Japan Cup at Tokyo. This decision follows his unfortunate fall at Kyoto last Sunday.
Unfortunately, Moore suffered a back injury during a fall and had to withdraw from his remaining rides at the meeting, including the Group One Mile Championship winner Namur (JPN).
Replacement rider Kota Fujioka took over and successfully completed the task. However, Moore is set to participate in upcoming events, including the LONGINES IJC at The Valley on Wednesday night, 6th December, and the LONGINES HKIR meeting at Sha Tin on Sunday, 10th December.
Moore is an accomplished jockey who has won the LONGINES IJC twice and currently holds the top spot in the LONGINES World’s Best Jockey rankings.
He has achieved a number of impressive wins, including a series of Group One triumphs aboard Auguste Rodin in Great Britain, Ireland and the United States. Moore will be joining a group of talented international jockeys for the IJC, including James McDonald, Rachel King, four-time German Champion Jockey Bauyrzhan Murzabayev, UK's Tom Marquand and Hollie Doyle, Japan’s Yuga Kawada and France’s Mickael Barzalona.
