Passion And Glory will be competing in the His Royal Highness Prince Salman Bin Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa Cup in Bahrain, on 2nd February, where he will be looking to secure his second Listed victory. The race will also feature Local Dynasty, who won a race in Dubai recently.
Passion And Glory, who is 8YO, won the His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa Cup in March, defeating First Ruler in the process and showcasing his affinity for the Sakhir course. In addition, he performed admirably at the same course when he finished second to Dubai Future in the 2022 Gr.3 Bahrain International Trophy.
This time around, Passion And Glory, who is trained by Saeed bin Suroor, will be competing over a mile and a quarter. In his most recent outing, he finished sixth in a Meydan handicap over the same distance, where he was beaten by Local Dynasty.
Local Dynasty, a 4YO trained by Charlie Appleby, made a strong impression on his Meydan debut, winning by three and a quarter lengths. He boasts impressive juvenile form in the UK, having won a Listed race at Pontefract and placed in major handicaps at Royal Ascot and Newmarket's July Festival last season.
Saeed bin Suroor said, “Passion And Glory prefers racing on right-handed tracks, which is why we have brought him to Bahrain twice before. He was a nice winner of a Listed race at the course last season and returns in good form.”
Charlie Appleby said, “Local Dynasty put up a good performance over this distance at Meydan and it was always the plan to head for this race afterwards. He looks in good order and hopefully the track there will suit.”
