Al Gamamah, a 6YO mare owned by Saeed Ibrahim Saeed Al Malki, stole the show at the Al Ain Racecourse on Wednesday, 3rd April, 2024. In the highly anticipated Al Mamoura Cup, a Gr.2 Local Thoroughbred Handicap featuring 4YOs and older rated 60-80, Al Gamamah, sired by Trade Storm and out of Balaton, surged ahead in the final moments to clinch victory in the 1200m race by one and a half lengths. This triumph marked a double win for trainer Ibrahim Saeed Al Malki and jockey Marco Casamento.
Another notable contender, Al Shomos, owned by Saeed Bin Mubarak Saeed Aljafali Al Naimi and trained by Ahmed Kobeissi, demonstrated strong form with two consecutive wins leading up to the race. Although she finished second this time, ridden by jockey Faleh Bughanaim, her consistent performance remains noteworthy.
Dhergham Bu Thaila, owned by Sabhea Awad Ibrahim and trained by Ibrahim Khaled Elahmed, also put up a commendable display, finishing third after securing victories in his previous two starts. Jockey Szczepan Mazur guided him to the third-place finish, seven lengths behind the leader.

Trainer Mohammed Hassan Al Matwi celebrated success as Matwi Al Shajah, owned by Hassan bin Ali Hassan Al Matwi, secured victory for the third time in his career. Jockey Saleh Faraj Al-Otaibi piloted the 4YO colt to victory in the 1700m Gr.5 Handicap for 4YOs and older Purebred Arabians rated 55-75.
Achika, owned by Mohammed Abdulhadi Al Hajri and trained by Ibrahim Saeed Al Malki, emerged victorious in the Gr.4 Handicap for 4YOs and older Local Thoroughbreds rated 40-60. Jockey Mohammed Hassan Ali Alabdulmalik guided the 5YO bay mare to victory, with Moharb securing the runner-up position.
Billabong, a 4YO bay gelding owned by Ahmed Hassan Al Malki Al Jehani and trained by Hamad Al-Jehani, showcased an impressive performance in the 1700m Gr.4 Handicap for 3YOs and older Thoroughbreds rated 0-80, winning by a significant margin under jockey Abdulla Rashid Al-Hajri.
Elliptical, trained by Gassim Ghazali and owned by Mansoor Ebrahim S I Al-Mahmoud, secured victory in the Gr.4 Handicap for 3YO Thoroughbreds rated 60-80, with Marco Casamento in the saddle.
Malikah, owned by Sheikh Ahmad bin Mohamed F N Al-Thani and trained by Mohammed Salama Ashour, timed her surge perfectly to win the Gr.3 Handicap for 4YOs and older Purebred Arabians rated 75-95 under jockey Jefferson Smith.
