Dual Gr.1 winner Emily Upjohn will miss Saturday’s King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes. The field of 11 remains unchanged at the five-day forfeit stage, with last year's Derby winner and recent Prince of Wales’s Stakes victor, Auguste Rodin, among the contenders.
Emily Upjohn, who last raced to a narrow second behind Bluestocking in the Gr.1 Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh, was a general 16-1 shot for the King George.
However, joint-trainer John Gosden announced on Monday that she will skip Ascot, with her next target yet to be determined.
Auguste Rodin, who disappointed by finishing last in the King George last year, now heads the market.
Rebel's Romance, making just his sixth British appearance at age six, is a notable entry, having previously triumphed in top-level races across Germany, Dubai, Hong Kong, and the United States.
Bluestocking, who is also entered in the Gr.1 Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, remains a contender for Ascot provided the ground is suitable.
Auguste Rodin’s stablemates—Continuous, Hans Anderson, Luxembourg, and Point Lonsdale—are also still in the lineup.
City Of Troy and Ambiente Friendly, who finished first and second in the Derby, have been withdrawn from the King George and will instead target next month’s Juddmonte International.
Irish Derby winner Los Angeles is also absent from Saturday’s Gr.1 race.
