HM Alchahine made a commanding return to action at Abu Dhabi on Sunday evening, cruising to victory in the Al Reem Island Conditions race over a mile. The 4YO colt, trained by Helal Alalawi, demonstrated his class under a confident ride from Adrie de Vries.
The 116-rated colt was facing inferior opposition at level weights but showed why he is considered one of the UAE's leading Arabians. His triumph sets up an intriguing clash in next month's Gr.1 UAE President Cup, where he will be joined by stablemate RB Kingmaker.
RB Kingmaker returns from a creditable second to Al Ghadeer in the Qatar Arabian World Cup in France, giving National Stables a formidable hand for the December 15 feature, now worth US$2.18 million.
Previous winners of the UAE President Cup include the legendary Munjiz (2006), who went on to sire multiple Group One winners, and Alanudd (2021), who later captured the Dubai Kahayla Classic.
"Last night once again proved he is the best 3- and 4-year-old in the UAE. The next logical step is to prepare him for the UAE President Cup on December 15," said Alalawi, who has expertly guided HM Alchahine's career.
The 32nd running of the prestigious contest promises to be one of the most competitive in recent years, with National Stables' dynamic duo leading the local defence against what is expected to be a strong international challenge.
HM Alchahine's imperious display suggests he has trained on from his outstanding three-year-old campaign, during which he established himself as the dominant force in his age group across the Emirates.
