Matthew Dale will take over as the new trainer for Front Page, the reigning Kosciuszko champion, following the retirement of Geoff Duryea.
Expressing his excitement, Dale confirmed that Front Page, the reigning Kosciuszko champion, will make his first appearance under his guidance in the A$2 million country feature on Everest Day, as he takes over as the new trainer for the top sprinter following Geoff Duryea's retirement.
Front Page: A Sprinting Sensation
Describing Front Page as a top-tier sprinter, Dale acknowledged the horse's impressive performances in Group races.
Dale also emphasized the significance of acquiring insights from Duryea about the horse in order to maintain a competitive edge.
“It’s a good result. We’ve been talking to Paul, the managing owner, over the last few days and we’re rapt he’s elected to carry on.” Dale said.
“He’s a very likely selected Kosciuszko horse, as usually those top five in the market are. It’s a privilege to get him to train and we’re looking forward to it.”
Since his Kosciuszko win last year, Front Page has raced five times and is currently priced at A$6 in Ladbrokes all-in Kosciuszko market.
Dale conveyed his admiration for the horse's talent and assured that he would thoroughly investigate Front Page's idiosyncrasies and preferences both prior to and after the horse's arrival at the stable.
