According to trainer Kieran Cotter, stable star Matilta Picotte has been impressing her connections as she prepares for her highly anticipated return later this month.
The 3YO filly, sired by Sioux Nation, achieved two victories as a juvenile, one of which was at Listed level in Newmarket towards the end of last season.

However, it was her impressive third-place finish in the first Fillies Classic at the same venue in May that truly established her as a top-level contender.
After a slightly disappointing performance in the Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock in her most recent race, Matilta Picotte took a mid-season break to wait for more favorable ground conditions.
Kieran Cotter, “She worked this morning and they are all dancing in the yard.
“She could either go to Goodwood for a seven-furlong fillies race (Oak Tree Stakes) on the Wednesday or she might go for the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville.
“It will depend on the ground. If we get a cut in the ground it might be Goodwood but she will be out shortly.
“We’re delighted with her as she’s put on 30 kilos since her last run. She’s really matured.”
