An exclusive Sydney spring campaign is expected to be launched by I Am Me, starting with the Missile Stakes at Rosehill.
On Saturday, the 5YO trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace will also be participating in the Gr.3 Aurie's Star Handicap (1200m) at Flemington.
I Am Me is anticipated to kick off an exclusive Sydney spring campaign, beginning with the Missile Stakes at Rosehill.
However, Eustace stated that the mare's preferred option for the Gr.2 race over 1200m at Rosehill on Saturday.
Out of her 13 starts, I Am Me has won seven races and remains undefeated in her two appearances at Rosehill.
On New Year's Day, she set a course record while winning her first Stakes race, the Listed Canterbury Stakes (1200m). Following that, she was sent to Sandown in February to compete in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m), where she finished seventh to Uncommon James, just over two lengths behind.
After that race, I Am Me was put away and has since had two barrier trials to prepare for her return on Saturday. She emerged victorious in both trials at Warwick Farm and Rosehill.
“She’s going well,” Eustace said.
“She’s had two trials, they’ve been excellent, so we’re happy with how she’s coming along.”
Big Parade, a recent trial winner, has been entered in Saturday's race, along with Golden Mile and Ingratiating from Godolphin, making it a strong nomination.
Although it is currently not on Eustace's mind, an early win could potentially generate interest for The Everest (1200m) at Randwick in October.
“We would like to think that she will contest races and run well enough in them to maybe earn some discussion for The Everest,” Eustace said.
“But I don’t know if anyone has considered her for a slot just yet, so we’ll see what happens in the next eight weeks, I suppose.”
In addition to a 1400m benchmark 100 handicap at Flemington, Stablemate Chassis is also participating in the Missile and Aurie's Star races.
“We’ll weigh it all up and make a decision at closer to acceptance time,” Eustace said.
