Trainer Aidan O'Brien is currently considering the possibility of entering his exceptional racehorse, Paddington, in the highly esteemed Cox Plate.
Following an impressive performance at the Sussex Stakes in Goodwood, where the horse demonstrated remarkable skill despite challenging weather conditions, O'Brien has expressed his keen interest in participating in the Cox Plate.
Unstoppable Horse Triumphs In Sussex Stakes
“We will definitely look at it (the International at York) and consider it very seriously,” O’Brien told media at Goodwood.
Paddington impressed O'Brien with his resilience, even in the face of challenging ground conditions at the Sussex Stakes.
“We will have to see how he comes out of this, we weren’t expecting the ground to be as tough as it was today, but knowing this horse, he could take it with a smile on his face,” the trainer remarked.
Tom Magnier, who is in charge of Coolmore's Australian branch, had dropped subtle hints about the potential of Paddington making his way to Australia.
“Tom mentioned something about Australia but he could go anywhere or do anything.” O’Brien said.
“He can go any trip, I’d imagine – a mile, a mile and a quarter, he could even go further, I don’t know.”
